Woman reading book lying near fireplaceMany homeowners are switching to gas fireplaces in Ramsey since they are a great low-maintenance alternative to traditional wood burning fireplaces. However, even though upkeep is minimal, gas fireplaces can still be in need of repair. Many issues only require a bit of troubleshooting and can be repaired by most homeowners.

One of the most common issues with gas fireplaces is when they do not turn on. If the fireplace isn’t turning on, the first step is to check the pilot light. Simply check the vent to see whether or not a small flame is burning. If it is not, reignite the pilot light. This should resolve the issues. If the main burner is not properly functioning, it may need to be cleaned, or the generator may not be supplying enough power. It can be adjusted as needed. Lastly, your gas fireplace may not work if the thermocouple is not working. It may just need to be tightened.
